FIJI 2007 & 2008

Our travel plans for 2007 & 2008 are to go to Fiji and explore the outer islands. We understand that Fiji has a fair amount of bureaucracy necessitating checking in and out of certain towns as we travel around. Therefore, we've decided to meet people either in Nadi or Suva and explore Fiji like petals on a flower. So, if people have an interest in certain islands we would make a point to go to those islands. Because we've heard so many wonderful things about cruising in Fiji we will be spending two cruising seasons here. Anyway, we're very excited about the trip and invite people who are interested in joining us to drop us an email: jeadam@svquest.com We will be leaving to go back to the Quest in April, so let us know right away.

Fiji is pretty much due north of Auckland, New Zealand. So our navigation to and from Fiji will be pretty straight forward. Sailing within Fiji is less than 200 miles to the outer islands and day sails to the closer islands. We are looking for crew to join us on those legs also. If you're looking for blue water experience this is your chance. It will probably be a week's sailing trip (give or take).

A couple of links that are a must are the noonsite link for Fiji and the US State Department.

Thought you'd like a picture of the south western Pacific. It gives one quite a perspective on the vastness of the Pacific Ocean.

Now, do you see that dot half way between northern New Zealand and Australia? That's Norfolk Island - the closest foreign country to New Zealand and a spot where boats can go to restart the taxation clock. SO...Norfolk Island here comes Quest in 2008! AND Here's what the island looks like:
