I think Fiji will stay in our hearts forever because
of the lovely friends we made there and their enthusiasm for our Bible
ministry.
Even
though we were visiting
Nangara for a short period of time, we felt that
we had made some good friends. We were happy to see our Bibles from two
years ago being used.
When
we visited Buliya
this year we were able to tour the village and see all the crafts that
the villagers rely on for income.
We
spent so much time at the First Landing Resort next to the
Vuda
Marina that I thought you'd like to see the beautiful grounds that
surround the place - mostly very large, old trees and beautiful planting
along the walkways.
Navadra
Island was one of our favorite places in the western Fiji
area. It was like our own private island - until the cruise ship
arrived! The good news: they didn't stay long!
Another
favorite was Waya
Island - even though we weren't able to anchor in front
of Octopus Resort as we had in the past. (The winds just did not make
their anchorage safe for us.) At one point we anchored in the southern
bay for the night, but as the wind turned around and increased (putting
us on a lee shore), we pulled up the anchor and high tailed it to the
northern bay - dropping our anchor just as we lost the last light of
day. We did sleep soundly as we were in the lee of the island and the
anchorage was calm.
