Masbate was a town where people had places to go and
things to do! People were busy and moving! We arrived on New Year's Eve
and everyone was getting ready for the big celebration. Some were even
starting early with fireworks.
This
is the entrance to the port where the commercial boats tied up - both
passenger and freight.
We
anchored out where there was another sail boat anchored and he showed us
where could obtain a safe tie up for our dinghy.
This
man up on the balcony has as his business the watching of your dinghy so
that everything is safe. He's paid a small amount for each boat.
We
had to walk along a little alley way on the way to the main town and
along the way we passed several houses on stilts.
Walking
down the alley we spied some folks preparing a pig for the spit! The
slaughtering had just occurred in this yard.
Another
man was building a room onto his house.
