There was nothing in our travels in Vanuatu that compared to our experiences in Southwest Bay, on Malakula Island during the festivals in each of the villages. This gentleman was superb, but there were many other fine dancers. Let me share some of my photos with you.

If you saw all these dances and costumes you would have been VERY impressed!

I'm going to just put in a bunch of photos and hope that you'll enjoy them.

There were three days of festivities. So you know this is only a sampling!

I can't even tell you, "This is the best photo!" You see what I mean.

Can you see this turtle swinging from the palm tree?

The musicians included a leader with the large base drum and three smaller drummers who would accompany with faster rhythms.

I love these photos more than any others from our travels this year. I hope you agree.

We were fascinated by these wonderful costumes!

We had some women dancing also, which were a little tame by comparison.

We ended the day with a cruiser potluck at the SWBYC including local food, book swap and singing!

One more shot that I can't resist sharing.

I just thought this was a beautiful picture of a local lady.
