We entered the Philippines in the town of Masbate on December 31st of 2009 - the last day of the year. The activity in the town was frenetic! Everyone was running around getting last minute items for their New Year's celebration. We had lunch in a restaurant/bakery and they had stacks of of baked goods waiting to be picked up.
