I think this photo depicts our short stay in Tilik.
Fr. Pinuela is the local priest in this area. He not only meets the
needs of his parishioners in the harbor town of Tilik, but he has
several other churches and chapels in which he says mass and conducts
other spiritual services. This lady runs a little store and she and
other parishioners put together a GREAT meal for us at Fr. Pinuela's
house.
He took us on a tour of the north eastern part of the
island of Lubang that was like nothing we'd seen so far.
We
knew we were in Asia when we say this style of plowing rice paddies.
On
the right, people are planting rice, one by one.
Besides
a shot of these cute girls in their school uniforms what we saw all over
this island was clean streets! We saw NO trash around. Also, check out
the typical houses we saw. Another thing we witnessed was that nearly
everyone is wearing shoes and decent looking clothes.
This
is an ordinary house on the left, but we saw some very nice houses as
well.
Just
a shoot of some cute kids on their way home from school.
Fr.
Pinuela took us to a very nice resort on the sea shore.

We enjoyed a pleasant repast as the sun started to set.

When we got back to Tilik we had a very nice dinner
prepared by members of the parish. Over dinner Fr. Pinuela told us a
little of his time in Senegal, Africa.
We left all the Bibles we had on the boat as we wanted
to complete our Bibles ministry with Fr. Pinuela. This was our plan, and
he was able to use our materials in his confirmation classes, Bible
study and support for seminarians with study Bibles. |
